SUMMARY

Prepare detailed technical working drawings of products, parts, dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.  Transform initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents.  Review current engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

  1. Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for products, parts, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
  2. Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
  3. Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
  4. Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  5. Design scale or full-size blueprints.
  6. Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
  7. Transfer outdated drawings into Solidworks.
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

Must be at least 18 years of age.  Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field.

Experience with CAD software is required (preferably Solidworks and Solidworks Composer).

J&D currently has an opportunity for a Territory Sales Manager to join our team! Our Territory Sales Managers maintain relationships with prospective and current customers to promote and sell J&D Manufacturing products. Further, Territory Sales Managers assist customers with all terms of a sale during the sale and after the sale. While much of this position involves working with customers there is strong team work with J&D Manufacturing employees on product research and development, delivery and installation of product and sales forecasting.   The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or 5-10 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The sales territory will include the following states, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Montana, and Wyoming.  The successful candidate will be located within the listed sales territory or be willing to re-locate. Experience in the agriculture industry is required. Experience with agricultural ventilation systems is highly preferred.

SUMMARY

Research, develop, design and create new products for J&D and make improvements to existing products. Utilize market research and field experience in developing products, technical product specifications and packaging. 

 

  1. Design and develop new and innovative products utilizing industry best practices.
  2. Suggest new products or improvements to existing products based on research and feedback from market, sales, marketing and ownership.
  3. Design packaging internally or externally using approved vendors.
  4. Assist with the research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility and cost requirements of designs or applications.
  5. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  6. Research, design and evaluate mechanical products, equipment, systems and process to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  7. Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.
  8. Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
  9. Create prototype drawings and follow them through the prototype runs, design rework, final runs, final BOMs, Routes and drawings.
  10. Collaborate with other departments to develop all product labeling information (brand recognition, product specs, and quality).
  11. Contribute in the creation of technical documentation, instructions and training materials.
  12. Develop test plans and conduct product testing and validation.
  13. Setup BOMs and routes in ERP system.
  14. Completion of New Product Request Forms, Pricing Request Forms and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) accurately and within specified time periods.
  15. Assist in researching market feasibility with the Marketing and Sales Department.
  16. Research Competitor’s products including benefits and features.
  17. Confer with Engineers and other personnel to create and implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information.
  18. Assist to provide customer support for controls, electrical, and ventilation issues.
  19. Assist to maintain test chamber documentation, testing data and certification.
  20. Provide feedback to other engineers on customer problems and needs.
  21. Perform any other duties as assigned.
  22. Responsible for generating team spirit and creating and maintaining a personal attitude and work environment that fosters the highest level of employee cooperation, morale and satisfaction.

Education and/or Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree and 5-10 years related experience and/or training.  Minimum of two years of experience with Solidworks is required.  Experience creating and working with Bills of Materials and Routes is required.  Electrical and ventilation experience preferred.

JOB SUMMARY

Install, configure, and support J&D Manufacturing’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Internet system and all other communication systems. Maintain network hardware and software. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.

8.Monitor and update Microsoft Dynamics Enterprise Portal and support and train end users.

9.Coordinate, with outside contractor, annual systems documentation update.

10.Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components.

11.Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.

12.Analyze equipment performance records in order to determine the need for repair or replacement.

13.Effectively communicate with end-users to work through issues and anticipate their needs.

14.Train people in computer system use.

15.Research new technology, and implement it or recommend its implementation.

16.Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel in order to facilitate purchases.

17.Perform disaster recovery operations.

18.Maintain voice communication system including reporting, equipment, and updates.

19.Monitor companywide internet usage.

20.Effectively create and maintain IT documentation, manuals, and procedures and optimize systems, processes and reports.

21.Perform any other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

Assist with the production of parts made of assorted materials using laser cutting machines from blueprints. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Determine proper arrangement of orders according to production schedules and work orders.
  • Read, interpret, and understand work orders, drawings, and production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Review all nests for sheet utilization and accuracy prior to running machine.
  • Verify parts are set to the correct revision level
  • Ensure lasers are loaded with correct material
  • Perform nesting of parts using SigmaNEST Software.
  • Cleanup and grind parts as required.
  • Ensure part counts are accurate.
  • Torch centering and lens cleaning.
  • Verify orders are accurately and efficiently produced by the machines.
  • Unload laser and check for quality of all parts produced.
  • Complete order request forms for needed inventory.
  • Identify needed maintenance of machines and ensure that parts are ordered and replaced.
  • Performs card shots, tape shots, etc. to trouble shoot performance issues.
  • Follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Identify and resolve basic quality issues.
  • Follow all safety policies and use protective equipment as required. 
  • Identify and immediately correct any safety hazards in work area.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience

Experience in manufacturing and Laser operation is required. Excellent attention to detail required to ensure accurate and efficient production. Experience using SigmaNEST Software and Mazak Lasers preferred. 1-2 years’ experience in the field or related area and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

JOB SUMMARY

Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment.  Assemble, address, and ship merchandise or material and arrange for the transportation of products.

  1. Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming and/or outgoing shipments.
  2. Pick, pack, and load orders per standard operating procedures.
  3. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
  4. Confer and correspond with other departments to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications.
  5. Pack, seal, and label material to prepare it for shipping, using work devices such as hand and power tools.
  6. Attach J&D Manufacturing Shipping Cards on ALL shipments.
  7. Pull completed orders and other products needed to complete orders for shipment based off standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  8. Load orders for customers that arrive on-site to pick up orders, while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  9. Assist in all areas of Shipping/Receiving Department, as needed.
  10. Keep all aisle ways and fire doors free of materials.
  11. Participate in all aspects of final product quality control inspections affected by warehouse and shipping in coordination with Supervisors/Managers and other departments.
  12. Follow good housekeeping practices within the facility, including effective use of all warehouse space, and in external staging areas.
  13. Inspect forklift at the beginning of each shift and follows designated checklist.  Reports all defects/concerns to supervisor/manager immediately.  Submits checklist daily to supervisor/manager.
  14. Perform any other duties as assigned.
  15. Responsible for generating team spirit and creating and maintaining a personal attitude and work environment that fosters the highest level of employee cooperation, morale and satisfaction.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience driving a forklift is required.  Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.  Must have excellent attention to detail skills and extreme accuracy.
